I’m always keeping my eye out for the best new gear to help my DJ business. After 20+ years of spinning tunes, I’ve learned what can be truly useful and what’s just added cost.
I put this page together to track my favorites. My focus is on finding the tools and equipment that will give you the best results for your hard-earned buck. Most of the time, I find that you can get 90% of the features from a product that costs less than half of the most expensive version.
DJ companies are constantly cranking out new versions to get you to buy the shiniest, most expensive new thing that they have. Unless you have superstar DJ money, you have to resist the temptation to keep up with the Joneses. The great news is all of these new products will make last year’s version readily available at a huge discount. You can thank your less-frugal DJ friends for that!
Use the links below to see my recommendations for the top DJ gear and tools you will need. I’ll suggest when you can save some bucks buying used, and when the latest version makes a big enough leap forward to be worth the money. If I missed something, tell me about it in the comments!
